Passengers threatened to attack while sitting on the plane, the fighter jet went to safety
A Singapore Airlines flight was going from San Francisco, USA to Singapore's Changi Airport. But a passenger on that flight threatened to bomb in mid-air. Panic spread immediately after this. Later, two fighter jets were sent from Singapore to ensure the safety of the passengers.
Two of our F16C/DS fighter jets were dispatched after a passenger threatened to attack a Singapore Airlines flight from San Francisco to Singapore, a Singapore Air Force statement said on Wednesday (Sept 28). Our troops escorted the plane safely until it landed safely at Changi Airport.
Citing the Ministry of Defense, CNN said that the bomb threat was fake. That is, there was no bomb in the passenger's bag. However, after the earlier attack was reported, the 'arms were mobilized' immediately.
According to authorities, teams from the Army's Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Explosives Defense Group and Airport Police arrived at Changi Airport after learning about the passenger's threat.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 37-year-old male passenger on the flight claimed mid-air that there was a bomb in his hand bag. At this time he also attacked the crew.
The police are investigating the incident. The plane landed safely at Changi Airport at 5 am on Wednesday.
